Kris Meeke i Scott Martin, ktòrzy debiutują w ten weekend za sterami Yarisa WRC uzyskali najlepszy czas na odcinku testowym. Brytyjczycy pokonali 3,3km shakedown aż pięciokrotnie. Na trasie oesu panowały bardzo dobre warunki, droga była w całości sucha.
Drugi rezultat gorszy tylko o 0,1s od załogi Toyoty wykręcili sześciokrotni Mistrzowie Świata Sebastian Ogier i Julien Ingrassia. Za plecami Francuzòw znaleźli się ich nowi zespołowi koledzy Esapekka Lappi i Janne Ferm. Czwarte miejsce przypadło w udziale Tänakowi. Pierwszą piątkę skompletował Jarri Matti Latvala, ktòry niegroźnie wypadł z trasy podczas swojego przejazdu.
Szòste miejsce zajął najlepszy z ekipy Hyundaia Thierry Neuville. Za Belgiem uplasował się Teemu Sunninen. Fin wyprzedził swojego zespołowego partnera Elfyna Evansa. Czołową dziesiątkę skompletowali odpowiednio dwaj kierowcy i20 WRC Andreas Mikkelsen i Sebastien Loeb.
Na dzisiaj organizatorzy przewidzieli dwa wieczorne odcinki specjalne, ktòre zainaugurują nowy sezon Rajdowych Samochodowych Mistrzostw Świata 2019.
